Identified Egg Donor Information
When Intended Parents work with an Identified Egg Donor to form their embryos, they are taking an important step for which their child will likely thank them in the future. Donor Conceived People consistently report that they want and need access to the egg donor who made their life possible. It helps them form their own identities when they have access to more information about themselves.
When clients pursue surrogacy with donated eggs, we support our Petition for a Pre-Birth Order to the court with a statement from the fertility doctor which confirms that the egg donor has agreed that she is not the child’s mother and she only donated so that the Intended Parents could build their own family as legal parents of any resulting child.
When Intended Parents receive donated eggs and they make their embryos with them, they are likely to have more embryos than they need to complete their family. Typically, the Egg Donor will sign a document stating that she agrees that the Intended Parents have the discretion to dispose of the extra embryos, to donate them to science, or to donate them to other potential Intended Parents for them to build their family.
